Target Audience of Post Apocalyptic Films

Target Audience The target audience for the Post-Apocalyptic Horror genre is usually targeted to older teens and adults (18-44) as its content is seen to be more appealing to this specific demographic. This specific genre’s style of dark themes and violence also is targeted more to the male gender thus these types of films use these themes and conventions to make it more appealing. Due to scenes of violence, Post-Apocalyptic films such as 28 Days Later and Dawn Of The Dead are not intended for a younger audience but people of this demographic find it more enjoyable and entertaining to watch
Web Pages in Film

Why do films have their own website page?

They do this to display many key features of the film. For example: what the characters are like, the props used and the basic information about the film. they do this to promote the film which helps to engage the audience in to watching the movie. this effect will increase profits rates and will get people talking about the film. for example star wars rogue one has there own website and displays what all characters are about very briefly and has a poster on the film.
Sounds in my film

Non diegetic

Non diegetic sounds Are sounds that the character in the scene could not hear. for example a musical sound track or a voice over etc. non diegetic music sets the scene and time period as well as the atmosphere. a voice can also allow the audience to hear someone's thoughts and empathise them.

Internal diegetic

This is similar the pointy stated about the non diegetic. Its could be about hearing someone's thoughts' as a voice over.

Diegetic sounds

Diegetic sounds are sounds that you can hear as if you was in the scene with the character. this includes words the characters say, background noises like birds or the sea and traffic/ crowd noise and even, music if it was heard by the character at a club or on television.

Mood Board for our film

Props within our film

A gas mask will be used on the main character to relate to the disease spread around the locations. this will be used to help in survive and is essential gear for him to wear.

we have planed for the antagonist in the film to capture the main character wearing the gas mask, and instead of killing him straight away, he rip's of the gas mask which will portray torture.
Rubbish will highlight the poor health/ uncleanliness and distress the characters are going through. it will aslo show that the charcters are scavangers and they crave more basic goods like food and water.

Image result for a hammerA hammer will connote danger and death. this will be juxtaposed with the antagonist to build tension

Risk Assessment for my film

Risk Assessment:
  • We had to be cautious whilst filming in the concrete structure as it had many sharp pieces of wood, and waste that could of lead to cuts, or splinters.
  • The location we are filming in, the surface is very wet, so we must take care when carrying equipment outdoors to not slip over
  • We had to be very careful as we had to cross many rivers/streams to get to this location, and also had to travel down many embankments and loose rocks, which may of lead to injuries.
  • Weather: it could rain. We have to protect the equipment by putting them in their cases and putting them in the backpack to prevent any damage.
  • Sharp branches on the trees. Snap any off that are in the way to prevent getting hurt or damaging equipment.
  • Some areas has barbed wire, so we had to be careful not to cut ourselves on it.
