Risk Assessment:
  • We had to be cautious whilst filming in the concrete structure as it had many sharp pieces of wood, and waste that could of lead to cuts, or splinters.
  • The location we are filming in, the surface is very wet, so we must take care when carrying equipment outdoors to not slip over
  • We had to be very careful as we had to cross many rivers/streams to get to this location, and also had to travel down many embankments and loose rocks, which may of lead to injuries.
  • Weather: it could rain. We have to protect the equipment by putting them in their cases and putting them in the backpack to prevent any damage.
  • Sharp branches on the trees. Snap any off that are in the way to prevent getting hurt or damaging equipment.
  • Some areas has barbed wire, so we had to be careful not to cut ourselves on it.

Font ideas in my film

Specific fonts used in films have more importance then some may think. A font can represent or be used in order to create a sense of havoc, humour or romance. However in this case for the opening scene of my post apocalyptic film, the font must match the genre.
This can consist of a dark, and dull font with perhaps a sharp; jagged edging to show that danger is near or danger will be coming. My peer has also suggested that an effect that can be used when showing the title is blood dripping.

Foley Artist

Who was Foley?
Jack Foley was the man who created this brilliant effect which has been widely used in filming since it began, he had established the basic modern techniques still used today. He is credited with developing a unique method for performing sound effects live and in time with the picture during a film's post production. then this audio was edited over the top of a video. This was by getting people to almost re-act a scene from a film.

What is a Foley artist?

A Foley artist is the production of common sound effects that are added to a video, film, and TV shows to improve audio quality. These reproduced sounds can be anything from the swishing of clothing and footsteps to squeaky doors and breaking glass.

What is the importance/ why is it needed

Its helps to enhance the sounds effects in to the film. Without this all sound effects would be very quite and hollow, meaning its not as effective towards the audience. For example gun shots and breaking glass would be faint. For example in a horror, action or post apocalyptic film, the tension wouldn't be built as high.
